We feel it's important to recognise the achievements of celebrities, instead of just focusing on what they wear to award shows. Therefore, we have created a list of 10 celebrities with degrees that will definitely leave you impressed!
We should warn you- these celebrities are beautiful and talented on top of their academic achievements. We apologise in advance for your feelings of envy!

The 24-year-old Emma Watson aka Hermione Granger received a diploma from Brown University, with a degree in English Literature. She was recently named the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and gave an impassioned speech on feminism and gender equality at the UN headquarters, that helped launch the HeForShe campaign. She stated that “It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Em!

The accomplished actress Cate Blanchett, who has received several accolades for her performances, firstly studied Economics and Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne. She took a break from studying to pursue travelling. After returning to Australia, she studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), which she graduated from in 1992.

The Black Swan star, Natalie Portman is not only an incredible actress, but she is also a very accomplished academic. Natalie graduated from Harvard University in 2003 with an A.B. Degree in Psychology. She has taken graduate courses at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and can speak six languages. She has been published twice in scientific journals for her work with frontal lobe activation, and the enzymatic production of hydrogen to sugar.

Sharon Stone is best known for her roles in Basic Instinct, Casino and Total Recall. Stone received a scholarship when she was 15 to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she studied Creative Writing and Fine Arts. Sharon Stone has been widely reputed for having an IQ of 154. Smart and beautiful! Some of us can have it all!

You may recognise Ken Jeong as Mr Chow from ‘The Hangover’. You may be surprised to learn that Mr Chow is a genius! Ken Jeong studied pre-med at Duke University, and received his Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina (UNC) in Chapel Hill. He then completed his residency in New Orleans. One of our favourite hangover lines is “Oh, you having a bad day? But did you die?” Oh Mr Chow, you’re too funny!

Anne Hathaway first attended Vassar College where she studied English and Women's Studies. She later transferred to New York University (NYU’s) Gallatin School of Individualised Study. She has also studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Anne is well known for her various stage and film roles that have earned her a number of awards.

The desperate housewife, and the very beautiful Eva Longoria studied at Texas A&M University in Kingsville, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then went on to receive her Master’s degree in Chicano Studies, which she received in 2013. Eva recently received the Harvard’s Artist of The Year Award for her philanthropic work with both Latino causes, and developmentally disabled children.

Meryl Streep, aka the queen of Hollywood, aka the devil that wears Prada, graduated from Vassar College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama. She then went on to earn her Masters of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. Meryl Streep has also received 8 Golden Globes, 2 SAG Awards, 5 Baftas, 5 Grammy awards, and 3 Academy Awards just to name a few. (We really do mean a few!)

The very eccentric James Franco graduated from the University of California, with a Bachelor Degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Franco also enrolled himself into three courses including the M.F.A. writing program from Columbia University, Creative Writing at Brooklyn College, and Directing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He has also completed a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Columbia University. He now resides at Yale where he’s studying toward a Doctorate in English, whilst also attending the Rhode Island School of Design!

Funny man Steve Martin, is not only a successful comedian and actor, but is also musically inclined! But did you know that Steve Martin is a member of MENSA, and has an IQ of 142? He wrote a piece for the New Yorker that outlined his efforts for getting into MENSA. Steve graduated from California State University with a major in Philosophy. He later went on to become a professor. Now that’s impressive!
