Back in 2009, there was one film on everyone’s lips, with impeccable cinematography and a truly beautiful storyline seeing the magical world of Pandora come to life. Now, eight years on, the incredible team at Cirque du Soleil have been inspired by James Cameron’s record-breaking film to create their very first AVATAR live performance in Australia.

TORUK – The First Flight will make its Australian debut at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre in October before heading to Sydney (Qudos Bank Arena), Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena) and then Adelaide (Entertainment Centre).

Through a breathtaking fusion of cutting-edge visuals, puppetry and stagecraft, Cirque du Soleil has brought its signature style to Cameron’s imaginary world. The theatrical performance is accompanied by a spine-tingling musical score, and is narrated by a traditional ‘Na’vi Storyteller’.

The live performance follows a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film AVATAR, before any humans ever set foot on Pandora. When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, two young Omatikaya men fearlessly take matters into their own hands. Their journey to protect the Na’vi people will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
