LION
By now, you've probably heard some of the hype around this film, and believe us when we say it's waranted. This year alone, Lion has raked in several impressive industry awards, including AACTA's 'Best Supporting Actor' and 'Best Supporting Actress' going to industry favourites Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman respectively.
The film follows the incredible true story of Saroo, a five-year-old Indian boy who gets lost on the streets of Calcutta. Thousands of kilometres from home, he survives many enormous challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later, however, he sets out to find his lost family. What happens next is worth watching.

BAD MOMS
If you love having a good giggle with your mum about the (sometimes) inappropriate sides of motherhood, this is the film for you. The hlarious movie follows the stort of Amy - a woman who has a seemingly perfect life, a great marriage, over-achieving kids and a career. However she's over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she's about to snap.
Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mum-like binge of long overdue freedom. Prepare for big laughs!
MOTHER'S DAY
Well, it wouldn't be a Mother's Day films round-up without this one. Boasting an all-star cast, Mother's Day follows the lives of several different families, intertwining poignant tales of parenthood - including one mother's attempt to share parenting roles with her ex-husband (and his much younger partner).
There's a daughter who is desperate to find and build a relationship with her absentee birth mum, a father struggling to fill the hole in his children's lives after the tragic loss of his wife and an adult daughter with children of her own finding it difficult to reconnect with her parents. In the film, Kate has long put her career ahead of a personal life and at 37 is finally determined to have a kid on her own. She turns to Angie to be her unlikely surrogate, but ends up finding that the woman carrying her baby ends up needing just as much parenting herself. This one is packed full of laughs, with a few heart-warming moments you won't forget.
FREAKY FRIDAY
An oldie but a goodie, this hilarious comedy never gets old. The film follows Dr. Tess Coleman (Jamie-Lee Curtis) and her teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) who are constantly arguing and disagreeing on Anna's choices of clothing, men and rock music.
After one particularly explosive Thursday evening, a little mystic mayhem switches their lives - and the girls wake up to find they are trapped inside each other's body. Literally forced to walk in each other's shoes, they gain respect and understanding for the other's point of view. But Tess's wedding is Saturday, and the two must find a way to switch back. THE GUILT TRIP
Barbara Streisand and Seth Rogen are the perfect comedy duo as they embark on one mother of a road trip! The plan for a quick stop at his mum's takes a sudden turn when an impulse compels Andy (Rogen) to invite his mother, Joyce (Streisand), on an eight-day, 3,000 mile journey across the country.

MAMMA MIA!
Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep leads an all-star cast in this film adaptation of the beloved stage musical featuring the timeless melodies of super group, ABBA.

The guests include three men from her past whom her daughter secretly invited because she suspects one might be her father! The film is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family. And it's not without a few laughs, tears and plot-twists, either.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING

Starring big names like Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez, this all-star cast perfectly portrays the ups and downs of new motherhood - with a few ridiculous plot lines thrown in, just for fun.
MOTHER & CHILD
If you're craving something a little more serious, you'll love this Mexican-American film drama centered around three women whose paths will cross and change them forever. The star-studded cast includes Annette Bening, playing Karen - a reserved 50-year old nurse, who was forced to give up her daughter Elizabeth (Naomi Watts) for adoption 35 years ago.
Also in the film, Lucy (Kerry Washington), a woman desperate to adopt a child of her own. A moving tale about forgiveness, the choices we make, the chances we miss, the opportunities we seize and the power of the unbreakable bond between a mother and child.

I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE DOES IT
